UK’s Travel Networks Frozen Until Boxing Day
Any plans of a big thaw have been hampered today as forecasters report that a big thaw won’t start until at least Boxing Day or beyond, leaving thousands of travel passengers delayed, stranded or worst still, having their travel plans cancelled altogether.
So delayed were flights at Heathrow Airport that the government stepped in, and Phillip Hammond, Transport Secretary, relaxed night flight rules and regulations in a bid to get passengers in and out of the country. This means that flights into London will be allowed to fly 24 hours a day, and across the country until 1am in the morning up until Christmas Day. Low Cost Airlines Don’t Mean Low Service
The rise of low cost airlines has revolutionised the aviation industry. Indeed, having opened up a whole new world of travel for people who couldn’t previously afford to fly, the availability of low cost flights has continued to attract increasing numbers. As a result, figures estimate that global air travel is growing at an annual rate of around five percent.
