The Department of Country Specific Information is available for each country of the world. They explain entry requirements, currency regulations, unusual health conditions, the crime and security condition, political turbulence, areas of unsteadiness, and special information about driving and road conditions. They also provide addresses and emergency telephone numbers and consulates. In general, Country Specific Information does not give advice. Instead, they describe conditions so travelers can make knowledgeable decisions about their trips.

For a few countries, however, the Department of State issues a Travel caution in addition to a Country Specific Information. The Travel Warning may recommend that campers postpone travel to that country because of a dangerous situation there.

Travel Alerts

Travel Alerts are a means to distribute information about relatively short-term conditions posing important hazard to the security of travelers. They are issued when there is an apparent threat, even if it does not involve Campers as a particular target group. In the history, Travel Alerts have been issued to deal with coups, pre-election disturbances, and violence by terrorists and anniversary dates of specific terrorist events.

You can contact Country Specific Information, for Travel Warnings and Travel Alerts at anytime 24-hours a day in several ways.

Internet

The most suitable source of information about travel and consular services is the Consular Affairs home page.

Telephone

Overseas Citizens Services can answer general inquiries on safety and security overseas. This number is available from working hours. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except federal holidays). Callers who are unable to use toll-free numbers, such as those calling from overseas, can obtain information and assistance from OCS during these hours.

In Person

Country Specific Information, Travel Warnings and Travel Alerts are available at any of the regional passport agencies and consulates abroad.

Local Laws and Customs

When you leave the sites, you are subject to the laws of the country you are visiting. Therefore, before you go, learn as much as you can about the local laws and customs of the places you plan to vacation. Excellent resources are your library, your travel agent, and the embassies, consulates or tourist bureaus of the countries you will visit. In addition, keep track of what is being reported in the media about current developments in those places.

A good camp therapist once said to her camper, “Don’t gaze at that person who has a disability.” The camper generally translated that information to, “Don’t look.” As a result, people who were different became invisible to the camper. Her counselor really meant, “Don’t make the individual painful.” As a result of the camper’s childlike interpretation, she not only did not see people who were different, she did not invite or even include them in her surroundings.

This story isn’t that strange. At times when people meet a person who seems dissimilar, for a host of reasons, they may look away because they do not know what else to do. Everybody thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.

One of the ways to change one’s personality and learn to be more tolerant of people with disabilities is to change behaviors when gathering, working, or playing with people with disabilities in any camp setting. When people, including children, know what to do and how to behave, perhaps more positive results will occur, and the earth may change one human being at a time.

Tips for Special Populations

The following tips are predestined to help people know what to do and how to plan for, request, include, respect, and play with individuals who may be dissimilar (culturally, physically, emotionally, or intellectually). The universal suggestions listed fit persons with disabilities and other particular populations, and in most cases, their no disabled peers will advantage as well. Often, it is not important to know or understand the actual disability or distinction. It is more significant to have helpful strategies immediately available to include all camp staff.

These suggestions specifically address play with individuals identified as having concentration/hyperactivity chaos, learning disability, emotional trouble, mental disabilities, hearing and/or visual injury, autism, and other health-impaired issues such as arthritis and cerebral palsy. When scheduling for group play, determine if any campers will need accommodations. So that establish a partner system i.e. two people function in partnership, playing as one, or one colleague acts as a prompter for another.

It is much better to plan your trip carefully. Another vital thing is carry abundance of water when planning a hike. The temperature is absolutely different from tropic region; hence prepare to dress properly and suitably

Plan Your Trip Carefully

Always tell somebody where you are going and when you will return. Stick with your journey, and let them know when you return. Do not travel in the desert backcountry without taking along suitable maps such as USGS topographic maps, which show land curves and specific features. Learn how to use a topographic map and a compass before you hike cross-country or on trails that are not well defined. It is simple to become confused in the desert where many landmarks and rock formations look similar.

Carry abundance of Water

There are no reliable sources of water in the desert regions. One gallon of water per campers, per day is the utter minimum that should be carried. When planning a hike, remember that water weighs roughly 8 pounds per gallon. When the water is half gone, it is time to turn reverse. Don’t forget to take extra water for your vehicle. Do not share your water. It will only do you fine if you drink it.

Dress Suitably

In summer, covered clothing slows dryness and minimizes exposure. Good hiking shoes, loose fitting natural-fiber clothing, a wide hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are the necessity things. Desert temperatures can reach over 90° F. and drop below 50° F. in one day. Summer temperatures can reach 125° F. in some locations. In winter, temperatures can frequently drop below freezing. Bring extra humid clothing.

While shopping for a new camping tent, look for special features that will let you enjoy the use of that camping tent for many years to come. Identify your budget and make a decision ahead of time how much you can manage to pay for to spend. I am not essentially advocating that you buy the most luxurious tent available in your price range, but it will assist you to know what your choices are. Once you know how much you can spend it’s time to examine the features of the camping tents in that price range.

Let’s begin to see the most important feature of a camping tent:

A tent with aluminum poles : Camping tents may come with fiberglass poles, but they are easily broken and more likely to smash. If you crook or break a pole, most of the camping stores trade replacements or repair kits.

A tent with an adequate rain fly : The rainfly is just like your tent’s umbrella. The bigger one is much better. Look for a fly that comes very down the sides of the tent rather than just crossways the top. Rain flies are always waterproof. Tent walls are water-repellant.

A tent with folded seams and double stitching : If you can drag the material on either side of a ridge and see through the stitches, this tent would leak. Be aware to use seam sealer on all ridges.

A tent with a one piece tub floor : The floor should be made of waterproof material, and it should come a few inches up the sides before it is sown to the tent walls. No seam in the floor means there is no place for water to seep in.

A tent with adequate guy lines : Tent walls, and sometimes rain flies, have loops sown near the middle. These loops are used to attach guy lines that pull out the walls so that they are taught. It’s impossible to sleep in a tent that’s flapping in the wind.

A tent with heavy-duty zippers : You’ll be in and out of your tent a lot so you want zippers that will hold up to frequent use.

Camping tips for women for receiving the most out of the camping experience. Do you connect camping with plagues of insects, tossing and rotating all night on the hard ground inside your tent, and a general lack of civilized facilities? If you say “yes”, then you’ll probably never fall in the love with camping. However, there are ways of making the knowledge more enjoyable.

Bring some vital equipment

A strong, flexible and rain-proof tent is only the starting point of essential camping gear. Don’t even think about resting on the hard ground! Take some more time to check out the different kinds of air mattresses existing at camping shops. Come to a decision in how much you’re willing to spend, and then invest in the luxurious model, or grab the budget version – whichever you decide, an air mattress of any kind will really improve your excellence of life over the camping weekend. Let’s face it, it’s impossible to enjoy yourself when you’re suffering from sleep deprivation. Get a good sleeping bag also bring a pillow, and one more blanket than you’d anticipate needing.

Insect repellent and sun block are also essential items. And seal all perishable food in airtight containers to protect it from creepy crawlies. Don’t forget drinking water supplies, long-life milk, canned food, can opener, and tea and coffee – you don’t need to add caffeine withdrawal to your camping experience. Toilet paper is also a must! Tend to your basic comfort needs, or you’ll find it impossible to enjoy the weekend.

Importance of personal hygiene

How will you survive going without took bath for 2 nights? Try to bring extra deodorant, a washcloth, toothpaste and brush; wipe off cleanser, and plenty of tissues etc. A cake of hard soap is also a good idea: it’s difficult to keep soap dry when you’re camping, and mushy soap soon disintegrates into a soggy mess.

Pack an extra bottle of water for grooming urgent situations, and you can be sure that you can at least brush your teeth and splatter your face with fresh water, wherever you may find physically. If you don’t need it to wash with, you can always drink it.

If your hair is past shoulder length, try to keep it tied back, as you’ll be hard-pressed to keep it looking glossy, or to style it. There will be no outlets for hairdryers or electric razors, so make sure you’ve covered any potentially uncomfortable personal grooming issues before you go – waxing may be the best way of banishing constant leg stubble over the weekend.

Keep makeup to a minimum – some colored moisturizer or light foundation and colored lip gloss are quick and easy to apply and remove at the end of the day. You won’t look overcooked, but you also won’t be forced to sport a ‘nude’ face.

Essential attitude

If you are not a usual camper, it’s predictable that your endurance will be tried during the course of the weekend. You won’t be as comfy as you would be if you were home in your own bed or deep in a lavender-scented fizz bath. But keep in mind: if you hadn’t gone camping, you would never have witnessed that wonderful sunset, or been plagued by the natural freshness of a pine forest first thing in the morning.

Camping is definitely not everyone’s favorite free time activity. But having the right gear, being prepared for some low-maintenance loveliness essentials, and adjusting your manner to your new environment can really help you to enjoy the escape from your daily life routine. A little time spent soothing in nature can see you return recharged and renewed to your everyday life.

Family camping can be lots of fun and enjoyable, but it is depending on when and where you go camping can be an unpleasant experience, if you are not prepared for nuisances. Here I represented some of the pests to watch for and explain you how to deal with these pests:

Flies and Mosquitoes

Flies and Mosquitoes can easily bring an end to your comfort around the campground; hence take along something that will prevent these little nastiest one. Citronellas candles can help to keep flies and mosquitoes away from the immediate area, but for meticulous protection you may need to apply an insect repellent to your skin.

Ticks

Moreover just being yucky, certain kind of tick carry diseases like Lyme. When you are in outdoors, prevention is the best measure: you can wear hats, cover exposed areas of skin with long and thin clothes; use a repellent to your skin, You can also use Deet, on your clothing, but not on your skin; try to avoid walking through talk grass or brush; and perform routine inspections to check for ticks. If you find one, remove promptly.

Snakes and Scorpions

Be more careful to snakes and scorpions! As heater weather approaches most of the snakes and scorpions become more active. Learn how to recognize the poisonous snakes, and know what to do if bitten. It is an essential one. Usually it is best to avoid all snakes in the outdoors.

Poison Ivy, Oak, and Nettles

Horrible plants, indeed! The best prevention method is to learning to identify such kind of plants, and then how to avoid any contact. Don’t try event to touch one of these plants, If do so, do not scratch, and wash the area in cold water. Suppose if you get something like rash or pimples, immediately use a topical solution like calamine lotion etc.

Chipmunks, Raccoons, and Skunks

These are some of the creatures usually appears in the night time. These are not much more dangerous but they came out to steal your food and cause general dismay at your campsite. Even though they are cute to look at, keep your mind, they are still wild creatures. Watch them from a distance, and don’t leave food or snacks out where they can get into it.

By a bit of knowledge and some proper prevention, I am sure your next camping trip doesn’t have to be disrupting by any pests and insects. Advance wishes for your next camping trip.
