Half Off Veterans Day Taos Hotel Specials Apply first 25 Days of November
Since veterans day is November 11, 2009, John and Suzanne Slenes, owners of Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza announced today they are offering lodging specials in honor of all USA veterans. These specials apply to any USA veteran who tells us they are a veteran. We encourage some validation but will accept Guest’s word too. “In today’s military action times, we’d like to do something special for them in Taos”, said John Slenes. Since fall si such a good time to visit, perhaps these specials will encourage you to make your stay a longer one. They are intended to enable you to really spend the time needed to learn about more of the unique features the Taos area and Northern New Mexico offer the visitor.
For purposes of this special, we’re expanding veterans day to the first 25 days of November! That may be a bit hoakie but it means you can afford to stay much longer, see many more things, learn much more about our history, culture, and people. The first special applies from Sunday, November 1 until and including Wednesday, November 25. 2009. For those nights, veterans staying at Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza will be given a discounted room rate of half off, 50% off, our already affordable rate of $69 per night or $34.50 for singles. Each added guest will be $5 additional. Guests may select our deluxe single king bed rooms or family 2 queen bed rooms. All rates are plus taxes and no other discounts or specials apply. That special rate is the lowest offered in Taos for many years. If you or your family enjoys Taos, the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial just East of Taos, or the mountains of Northern New Mexico, November means you can stay for extra days to really gain the true experience of Taos and Living Life at a Higher Level. Last time Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza did a half off special, our Guests really spread the word for us and we did a ton of business.
The second special is for the nights of November 10, 11 (veterans day), or 12. Stay two nights, the 10th and 11th, pay $34.50 for the 10th and the 11th is free. Stay the 11th and 12th, pay $34.50 for the 11th and the 12th is free. What ever you call it, two for one, another half off, 75% off, buy one get one free, that is the best value in Taos lodging (maybe anywhere else). Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza is known by Guests for offering Taos’ best lodging values just about all the time. These veterans specials are just the latest example of how we earn that title of Taos’ best value Inn. Usually, our best value is Pay 3 (at full rate), the 4th is FREE. That’s a 25% discount. Offering from 50 to 75% off is almost unheard of. Mrs. Slenes said, “November is about the slowest month of the year so let’s make it truly affordable for veterans to visit Taos and stay several days!”
Mr. Slenes commented, “Part of our country’s greatness is the service to country that our veterans provide. We would not enjoy the freedom we do without their service. This is our way of saying thank you. We just want to honor those who’ve done so much for not just America but the world.”
Those specials are available only for reservations made directly with the hotel and walk ins (if we have availability). They are not available for any of the online travel agents. “Those systems cost too much to use for a rate as low as this one” said Slenes. The many online booking systems cost the hotel around 25% of the Guest paid revenue. Some of them even cost extra to the customer. We always advise folks to check online rates first, then call us or any other hotel directly. They will almost always save both the hotel and the Guest money. Call 800-444-2346 for information or reservation details.
Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza is located in the heart of downtown Taos. The hotel is about 2 blocks South of historic Taos Plaza. Guests can walk to many historic district sights, museums, galleries, and entertainment places. Arriving Guests are greeted by a warm, inviting SW design lobby and friendly front desk team members. Guest service is an area of pride by each front desk team member. “Tour guide” is our level of service. Deluxe rooms include an environmentally sound gas log heater / fireplace. Suzanne Slenes said “November is one of our slower months. We hope this helps veterans afford and enjoy a little time away.” Our web site or any of the other Taos sites have many more things to see and do listed. We also have many links at the web site and the blog: Talk About Taos Tourism. If one particular thing attracts you, we always suggest calling ahead to verify their hours and status.
A continental breakfast and WIFI are always complimentary amenities for Guests. Guests love our acre sized central courtyard with it’s grass and tall trees. Some Guests return just to sit in front of our horno fireplace / BBQ pit, relax, enjoy a fire, and sip their favorite adult beverage. Some folks have grilled on the BBQ and picnicked in the courtyard. Please note, I prefer my filet medium. Thanks!
Taos and Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza are about 70 miles North of the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Located at about 7,000 foot elevation, Taos offers visitors much to see and do. For those who appreciate history and culture, there are several local museums that always have a wide range of things to see and learn about the Taos area. For those seeking more knowledge of native American lore, Taos Pueblo is about 2 miles North of Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza and always is one of our most popular tourist attractions. Prefer the art scene? There are 70 to 100 galleries in Taos and the surrounding areas with every media you might like and many differing styles. The scenery and cultural diversity are a couple reasons why Taos was the stopping pint for the original Taos artist colony almost 100 years ago. If you like the outdoors, we have an abundance of things to see, do, and experience. Hiking, bicycling, walking, photography, research, etc. all have opportunities to explore the Taos area. If you like education, there are art classes, writing classes, seminars, healing courses, speakers, and more.
Sucks, some folks just enjoy the area wineries and myriad of local food choices. Remember, New Mexico’s official question is…Red or Green? If you like it spicy, you will love Taos foods. Prefer it more tame, ask for the red or green on the side so you can spice to taste. Some eateries even have late off season specials. Our front desk team are excellent guides for all the Taos area activities.
All other Guests will enjoy a discount of 10% off our already lowest in Taos rates for any 2 night or longer stay. Again, direct bookings only. No online system reservations. Call today!
Hotel web site is in the author bio below. The hotel address is 233 Paseo del Pueblo Sur, Taos, NM 87571. Phone 575-758-4293.
